Coach John Burd & Haley Sturgeon

Hart County High School Lady Raiders basketball’s Haley Sturgeon was recently honored for scoring her 1000th point in her high school career. The remarkable thing about the achievement is that she is just a sophomore, and playing her fourth year of varsity hoops. Though she only played in 6 games as a 7th grader and didn’t score in the 2016-17 season, her 8th grade season saw her raise her game to the next level, as she led her team in scoring with 244 points and a 10 ppg average over 25 games. Haley’s progress continued into her freshman year in high school, increasing her average to 12.4 points per game and her total of 347 points was once again the highest point total with 347 points and average on the squad.

Now in her sophomore year Haley already has 361 points thru 22 games, averaging 16.4 points per game and looking to lead the Lady Raiders to another 5th Region tournament berth.
