The Eastern Kentucky University men’s basketball team will look to make it seven wins in a row when the Colonels face SIUE on Saturday afternoon at the Vadalabene Center. Tip is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. ET.

EKU (12-12, 9-2 OVC) won its sixth straight game with a 91-84 victory at Eastern Illinois on Thursday. It is the Colonels’ longest regular season OVC win streak since 2007.

Sophomore Tre King matched his career high with 22 points in the win at EIU. King currently ranks 14th in the OVC in field goal percentage (50.7%) and seventh in free throw percentage (78.9%).

Freshman Michael Moreno poured in a career high 17 points vs. EIU. He was 5-of-5 from the field and 4-of-4 from three-point range.

Moreno leads all OVC freshmen in rebounding during league play (6.7 rebounds-per-game).

Senior Ty Taylor was voted OVC Co-Newcomer of the Week on Monday. Taylor averaged 20 points, 4 rebounds and 2.5 assists-per-game in the two wins over UT Martin and SEMO last week.


SIUE (5-19, 2-9 OVC) fell at home to Morehead State, 58-49, on Thursday night.

Zeke Moore paces the Cougars at 13.0 points-per-game.

This is the 13th all-time meeting between EKU and SIUE. The series is tied, 6-6. The Colonels defeated the Cougars, 78-72, on January 11 in Richmond.


EKU stays on the road next week, traveling to Morehead State on Thursday and Austin Peay on Saturday.
